Stormy

Allan Marley and his father lived on a wilderness lake.  In the summer they fished, in the winter they trapped, and in the autumn, when migrating ducks and geese were filling the sky, they ran their main business of guiding sportsmen for waterfowl shooting.  

Then the father's temper got him into trouble and he ended up with a prison sentence.  Allan tried to keep things going, but the neighbours made things difficult for him.  It was discouraging, but he wouldn't give up.

That's when Stormy appeared.  He was a big cross-bred retriever, a mongrel but a born hunter.  Like Allan he loved the wilderness, and he had troubles too.  Sharing the good and the bad, they helped each other weather several kinds of storms.
